The Eaton 93PM is recognized for energy efficiency (≥97%) and modularity; Eaton no longer sells the 93E (the 9355 and 93PM replace it), and GDF still services installed units. The 9395 is a long-standing industrial reference. IPMVS supervision and BMS integration available.

Three-phase UPS service: what a visit covers

Maintenance, online when it can be
On bypass the load has no protection, which is why GDF prefers to maintain critical loads online. A hospital running an Eaton 9355 (15 kVA, 208 V three-phase) asked about this; GDF advised doing it online, and the PM came back all green.
Battery strings, block by block
String float voltage, then the voltage and internal resistance of every block, with battery temperature. Failed internal-resistance tests: 37 mail threads and 27 service reports, including strings only 3 to 4 years old in hot rooms or with mixed ages.
Capacitors, fans and the power section
This is where old frames give out: capacitors, static bypass SCRs, fuses and fans. Capacitor failures or kits alone come up in 19 mail threads and 7 service reports. Eaton advises treating capacitors as perishable and planning their replacement near the end of rated life; Schneider Electric’s Symmetra PX 250/500 flags power modules at end of life for wear of fans, capacitors and power supplies.
Commissioning
New and replacement units are started up and documented. GDF is a certified partner of XPC and Delta, and XPC start-ups alone fill 42 mail threads and 6 service reports. Method: three-phase UPS commissioning.
Discontinued frames and parts
In 15% of GDF reports the UPS was discontinued, past its service life or short of parts. Eaton publishes a service phase per model: Active (full support), Mature (best efforts, parts may not be available), Retired (no contract coverage) and End of Service Life (no service or parts). A replacement sized to the real load

Three-phase jobs from the field
Telecom site, Montreal region: an APC Symmetra PX 40 kVA with five power modules was in alarm. The power and intelligence modules and fans were fine; the batteries, mixed brands and capacities from 2019 on, had several defective blocks. Advice: new batteries, keep the frame.
Remote mine, northern Quebec: on a Symmetra PX 40 and a Symmetra LX 16, batteries in error from a firmware and string-match issue were fixed on site, worn power-module fans were noted for the next shutdown, and parts scarcity on the discontinued models went into the plan.
Network operator, Toronto area: a Powerware 9315 about 24 years old (300 kVA, 600 V) lost its capacitors and its static bypass. The repair was quoted with its risks; the recommendation was a modular replacement.
