Who services Vertiv and Liebert UPS systems in Canada? Vertiv's own service organisation does, and so do independent providers. One of them is GDF Technologies, an independent UPS service company from Montreal, in business since 2012.
Which units does that cover? The whole Liebert line. Rack units like the GXT5, double conversion from 500 VA upward. Three-phase frames, from the EXM up to the EXL S1 at 1,200 kilovolt-amps. And the families in between, from PSI to APM. Vertiv, Liebert and Emerson Network Power are the same product line under different owners, so legacy Emerson and Chloride units are covered too.
What does a service visit include? Work follows IEEE and CSA standards, with a written method of procedure before the visit and a written report after. The inspection checks capacitors, fans, thermal images, control boards, battery impedance and load bank behaviour. Battery replacement covers VRLA and lithium, with runtime validated after the swap.
And when something goes wrong, dispatch runs around the clock for alarms, bypass faults and unexpected shutdowns.

What’s the difference between Vertiv, Liebert, and Emerson Network Power UPS?
They are the same product line under different ownerships. Emerson Electric owned the Liebert brand and rebranded it as “Emerson Network Power” for marketing purposes. In 2016, Emerson spun off this division and it became Vertiv. GDF services all three generations under one service agreement, no need to worry about the corporate history.
Do you service older Chloride UPS units?
Yes. Chloride (acquired by Emerson, now Vertiv) produced three-phase UPS systems widely used in industrial and utility environments. GDF provides full maintenance, battery replacement, and parts sourcing for Chloride units, including models no longer supported by Vertiv.
Can you handle both the Vertiv UPS and the Liebert CRAC units in one contract?
